What is a stag do?
April 7, 2014
It is a tradition in England to have a party for the groom before getting married to celebrate his last days of single life before becoming hitched.
A different way of living life is approaching the husband to be, so this will be his last chance to go wild with his friends and let his hair down before being tied down, restricted and given jobs to do by his lovely wife.
Yes, washing up and doing household chores await him, but don’t tell him that!
The Bride to be will be looking forward to her own Hen Do as well so maybe the Best Man and Maid of Honour could swap tips!
It is normally the job of the chosen best man to arrange the formalities and get everyone together for the event.
There are a variety of things that could be done to celebrate this event. The usual in the past would to get drunk, tie up the groom to a lamp post.
Now it is very popular to go abroad for a bit of sun and maybe even dress up in funny stag do t shirts for a laugh! Keep it clean though, you don’t want to offend anyone or get refused entry to a night club.
It is also popular to have non-alcohol based activities like go carting or paint balling.
Whatever you choose to do make sure you plan it carefully and have a great time!
